ICT Exhibition on 02/08/2024 was a great success!
150 students and ICT-teachers from 18 different secondary and vocational schools took part in our first ICT exhibition in Luweero Diocese Secretariat. The education team of Luweero Diocese with DEC Canon Mephibosheth Musisi, coworker Claudia Duerr, Isaac Kiwanuka, Faith Nambatya and William Lwanga welcomed all students and encouraged them to be doers , not only hearers. Schools were displaying and presenting wonderful and colorful Websites, different KOLIBRI channels and other products like graphics, newspapers, certificates and more. Our special guests and jury Dean of NDU Computer and Science Dr. Dr. Robert Setekera and ICT lecturer Twaka Kateete from NDU, Francis Bizoza the travelling teacher from Learning Equality/KOLIBRI, and Stephen Dumba WordPress Lover and important member of ITAU took time, checked all exposures, gave advice and assessed the students. After an interesting roundtable with our special guests all students got certificates and every school was allowed to pick something from the ICT treasure box. The main prize went to Ndejje SS for 2 creative and innovative Websites, Makulubita Seed SS and Mpigi SS are receiving used laptops for good achievement in graphics and KOLIBRI and 20 students and teachers from Ndejje SS, Luteete SS and Luweero SS are rewarded for good Webdesign and are travelling together to WordPressCamp in Jinjja on 5./6. September 2024.
It was a good start and for sure we are going for second ICT exhibition next year! Plan to be part of it.
